About the Author
Dr George D. Magoulas is Reader in Computer Science in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Birkbeck College, University of London. Dr Magoulas was educated at the University of Patras, Greece, in Electrical and Computer Engineering (BEng/MEng, PhD), and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from Brunel University, UK. His primary research interest lays in learning and adaptation methods with applications to intelligent learning environments and adaptive web-based systems. He has published over 100 research contributions in leading international journals, conferences and books, and has participated in several industrial and academic research projects at European and National levels. Dr. Magoulas is a member of the IEEE, the User Modeling Inc., the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society. His work in personalized systems is currently funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and the UK Arts and Humanities Research Board.
Sherry Y. Chen received her Certificate of Computer Programming from the National Taiwan University, her Doctor of Philosophy in the Department of Information Studies from the University of Sheffield (UK), her Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland (USA), and her Bachelor of Art from Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan). Dr. Chen is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Computing at Brunel University (UK).
